A Downtown Charlotte Park Engagement Session

I met up with Michaela and Cody for a downtown Charlotte park engagement session on a sunny Saturday afternoon. I arrived early and to my surprise, because I obviously wasn’t thinking, the beautiful day brought many people out to Freedom Park and finding a parking space was a challenge. We were grateful that the weather brought cooler temperatures because we ended up parking pretty far away from where we started shooting.

Freedom Park was more beautiful than I had anticipated and using it as a backdrop for this session was a dream!

Meeting these two was an absolute joy! Michaela and Cody are the sweetest couple and we instantly had tons to talk about. They met while both attending Appalachian State University in the mountains of North Carolina, he, a biology major and her, early education. This sweet couple instantly connected over their love of the supernatural and adventure. They both recently graduated and started their teaching careers in the Charlotte area.

Ya’ll know how I love engagement stories, so here is theirs! Cody took her back up to Boone on a weekend getaway. They then went to a little gazebo on App State’s campus to pop the question. He even got one of her friends to sneak around and get pictures of it! How sweet is that? The ring was his late mother’s and therefor very special to both of them.

Michaela and Cody’s wedding is in July of this year at a beautiful venue in Stokesdale North Carolina overlooking a lake and we can’t wait to be a part of their day.

Can you just feel the love they share!? It was an incredible engagement session and I am overjoyed that they are a #JBCouple. Dan and I are looking forward to spending your special day with the both of them and their friends and family!
