The sweetest 50th wedding party!

I had the honor and privilege to be a part of the sweetest 50th wedding anniversary celebration! So, I’m going to start by saying happy 50th wedding anniversary to Ellis and Wanda Rouse!

This night was full of laughter, love and tears of joy. The weather was rainy and cold, but that didn’t stop their friends and family from coming together to celebrate the life these two have shared.

Look at these two! One might think they were newly weds by how incredibly happy and in love they are! Their family had so many sentimental items from their wedding day on display, it was a very special touch which everyone enjoyed!

Now let’s get to the party!

Wanda had even saved some of the napkins that were used at their wedding in 1969. Y’all, I just about cried when I saw this. So sweet!

Then and now, 50 years later and even more in love than ever.

The details of the party were incredible. They decorated with magnolia leaves (the souths favorite tree) and it was just the right touch.

Here is the honored couple with their children and grandchildren. This family is beautiful, inside and out.

It wouldn’t be official without sharing a slice of cake! This part of the evening was a joy to witness, I had just met them but could tell that they were not only husband and wife, but best friends as well.

(And y’all, this cake was delicious! I think I’m going to need the recipe!)

Then it was on to Ellis’s speech.

Being that Ellis is a pastor, he had everyone well engaged, laughing and crying tears of joy. He shared many precious memories of their early married life and raising their children, Andy and Emily.

The way he spoke of his 3 grandchildren brought tears to many eyes. I especially liked how he talked about going to see tractors with his grandsons. Memories for the boys that will last a lifetime.

The love they share and the lives brought together by their marriage is an inspiration to many.

And in keeping with his good humor, a hilarious video of someones reaction to marriage!

We would all be so lucky to be as happy and in love as these two after 50 years of marriage!
